Regarding the current events in Israel and Palestine,I find myself offended by the notion of praying for either party, rather than for everyone involved.
So, when Laurent Sozzani, my close friend over many long years sent me what I consider thoughtful and studied commentry on the topic, I decided to pass it along.
Laurent born and raised American, lives in Europe. His career is art conservation. He is very smart and educated.
Please, no matter what you may think or feel about Jews or Arabs, consider what he has, after plenty of deliberation, come to believe about what the conflict between those cultures means to us all:
FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA – A NEW BEGINNING
Israeli Zionist occupation of Palestine has been illegal since day one. What actual legal justification did the British mandate over Palestine have other than simple colonization by force, which then allowed Israel to be formed through perpetual forced occupation. From its beginnings the occupation perpetuated brutalization of resisters, land theft, murder and displacement of legitimate occupants resulting in generations of refugees. A process of 75 years of continuous warfare with periodic flare-ups, coming into its most brutal today in Gaza, the West Bank and many historically Arab/Muslim villages and neighborhoods.
For 75 years the world has sincerely cried for the tragic victims of the WWII holocaust while at the same time being led into believing that the Jewish people deserved a refuge because of years of persecution. This while only rarely being appraised of the actual expense being paid for by the lives and reduced well-being of the Palestinians.
October 7th was terrible for those who suffered and died at the hand of Hamas. But was Hamas acting as a terrorist group or as resistance freedom fighters? This of course depends on which side of the fence one is standing. The only real mistake Hamas may have made was the killing of children and unarmed women for which as of yet there is scant evidence. Soldiers, security and police, and armed adults were all justifiable targets unless one is in denial as to the years of Palestinian oppression – experienced through murder, displacement, depraved living conditions, abuse and psychological torture. One must ask oneself, “How would I react living under those conditions year after year?”
Israel is a spent project and now must make a crucial life choice between fascism and humanism.
Continuing as “fortress Israel” implies perpetual conflict, with or without the support of its present collaborators, the US, GB and the EU. A thorn in the side of the middle east, it only perpetuates conflict and polarity, ultimatly benefiting only military industrial complexes.
Even the so-called two state solution can only perpetuate continuous conflict until the day push comes to shove with the possibility of unleashing a nuclear holocaust the likes of which has never been seen.
There is an alternative, in my view the only viable alternative. This calls for the complete surrender of national Zionist Israel in favor of a Unified Palestine. Complete surrender to the ideals of humanism, democracy and co-operation between citizens. This would not be a defeat but rather a victorious embrace of humanism. Israel as a singular isolated national entity would cease to exist. Those willing to participate would integrate themselves into one Unified Palestine with equal rights for all regardless of religious or non-religious background and/or affiliation.
One Unified Palestine, from the river to the sea. A country where participation was not only for the benefit of one ethnic group at the expense of others but for the greater good. Jerusalem as its focal point could become a beacon of forgiveness, justice, tolerance and humanism, an example of renewal and co-operation over polarity for the world to follow.
Present day Israel actions, supported by its collaborators, has fast become the image of all that is evil, destructive and inhuman. For this reason, a turnaround by Israel (and its collaborators) has the potential of being a positive example to the world.
The choice is between an authoritarian fascistic future or a renewed humanism. The clock is ticking and it is time for the failed experiment of Israel to give up the ghost and its narcissistic psychosis and use the potential of its collective intelligence not only for the pseudo-chosen few but for the good of humanity as a whole. ONE PALESTINE.

The whole war is based on disinformation, misinformation, and misdirection. For starters, "Hamas" really appears as no more than a Front for a Mossad Operation, much as "Al Quaida" was a front for the CIA.
Next, are you really going to tell me that the "Hamas" used Hang Gliders to strike across the security zone and into Israel? And where exactly did they jump from, the 7th Floor of the Danitelli Mall?
I would sooner believe that all the "Hamas Strikes" were a massive false flag manufactured by the Israeli "Defense" Force.
All that being said I too am for a ceasefire and then an investigation.
But the chances of that are about the same as George Bush admitting 9-1-1 was an inside job and turning himself in.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. You are our only hope!
